Quick-change technology allows part-to-part mill changeover in 15 min.

Rafter Equipment Corp. has introduced patented Mill-Flip® quick-change technology that allows tube producers to achieve part-to-part changeovers in 15 min. or less.

The technology requires no special mill roll stands or roll tooling and no complicated mill drive connections or electrical controls systems. Special operator and maintenance training is not required. It works without overhead cranes or special raft handling equipment.

Users can break into a production run and quickly go back to a previous product. Redundancy is built in for increased line uptime capability. There is no infringement on the operator's side of the mill during changeovers. The technology can be used on roll forming machines as well.
