Clever TIG welding tip from Rush Kane

Simple trick for prepping a tungsten electrode on the fly

In this quick video blog, I stopped by the OTC Daihen booth during FABTECH 2022 in Atlanta to catch up with fellow welder Rush Kane, who shared one of his favorite TIG welding tips and tricks: Prepping a tungsten electrode for more efficient use on the fly.

In short, it involved 90-degree die grinder, a 2-inch diamond wheel, and a some tungsten electrodes. He used the diamond wheel and grinder to cut the electrode in half and then finish the shortened rods to fine point.

Also, check out a conversation I had with Rush back at FABTECH 2021 about his partnership with OTC Daihen and another conversation I had with him and Nate Bowman regarding their Weld Labs project.
