Mayville Eng. purchases Defiance Metal Products

Mayville Eng. Co. Inc. (MEC), Mayville, Wis., has announced it has acquired Defiance Metal Products (DMP), a Defiance, Ohio-based manufacturer of metal products for the commercial vehicle, agriculture, construction, and military industries, through a private stock purchase.

DMP has two facilities in the Defiance area, one in Heber Springs, Ark., and one in Bedford, Pa. Employee-owned MEC, with 16 facilities in Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, South Carolina, and Mississippi, provides prototyping, production manufacturing, fabricating, tube forming, coating, and assembly services.

Steve Mance will continue as president of DMP, a MEC company and will be involved in integrating the two companies. It is anticipated that DMP’s 975 employees will remain with the organization, and no changes are expected in the foreseeable future.
