Nucor to build rebar micro mill in Florida

Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C., will build a rebar micro mill in Frostproof, Fla. The $240 million facility is expected to employ about 250 people and have an annual capacity of 350,000 tons. Construction is expected to take two years.

The company and its affiliates are manufacturers of steel products, including carbon and alloy steel, hollow structural section tubing, electrical conduit, steel piling, steel joists and joist girders, steel deck, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel, cold-finished steel, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating, and wire and wire mesh.
