Wieland Metals plans to build new facility in Illinois
Germany-based tube producer Wieland Metals Inc. has announced plans to build an industrial building near its existing facility in Wheeling, Ill. The company estimates that the $25 million expansion will create 65 jobs.
The new plant, expected to be complete in summer 2019, will include about 10,000 sq. ft. of office space; 7,000 sq. ft. for tooling, maintenance, mechanical and lab uses; and 94,000 sq. ft. for manufacturing and crane bays.
