Xiris Automation’s WI-2200-360° Scratch Inspection System finds hairline scratches in tube coatings
Xiris Automation Inc. has developed the WI-2200-360° Scratch Inspection System for tube and pipe manufacturing. It comprises four laser triangulation sensors designed for the tube mill environment and mounted around the tube to provide 360-degree inspection of coated and uncoated tube surfaces.
Using the high-resolution sensors and advanced defect-detection software, the system detects minuscule scratches in protective coatings on metal tubing that could provide a leak path for fluids in mission-critical applications.
