Zetec posts webinar on detecting corrosion in pipe elbows

Zetec Inc., a provider of NDT technology in Snoqualmie, Wash., has published a new webinar on measuring wall thickness and detecting flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC) in pipe elbows used in oil and gas and other industrial applications.

Available on demand, the 20-min. webinar highlights an inspection technique using an integrated phased-array ultrasonic testing instrument and a manual scanner with a flexible linear array probe that can adapt to straight and elbow pipe. A single probe covers all elbow diameters and produces high-resolution C-Scan images of FAC and other types of damage for analysis by the inspection team.

The webinar explains how Zetec’s UltraVision software platform can simplify data plotting and analyzing. It also offers a step-by-step demonstration of the PAUT instrument, scanner, flexible probe, and couplant working in combination to help improve inspection productivity and efficiency.
