Mitchell manufactures push pointer for cold drawing copper tubes

George A. Mitchell Co., based in Youngstown, Ohio, has been contracted to supply a 33/50,000-lb. four-die inline hydraulic push pointer for a North American manufacturer of cold-drawn copper tubes for the plumbing, refrigeration, medical, and industrial markets.

The machine can produce a 6-in. point length with a four-die reduction in 14 sec., according to the company. The multiple-die reduction allows the tube to be push-pointed once and then drawn multiple times without the need to repoint between draw passes.
