Mitchell to supply push pointer to aluminum tube manufacturer

George A. Mitchell Co., Youngstown, Ohio, has been contracted to supply a 12,500-lb., three-die, inline hydraulic push pointer to a U.S. manufacturer of cold-drawn aluminum tubes for the aerospace industry.

The machine produces a 6-in. point length with a three-die reduction in five seconds, says the company. The multiple die reduction allows the tube to be push-pointed once and then drawn multiple times without the need to repoint between draw passes.
