Pipeline Technique completes triple acquisition from Stanley Black & Decker

Pipeline Technique (PTL), a provider of welding, field joint coating and double/quad jointing, and spoolbase technical engineering services to the international energy and low-carbon industries, has acquired a trio of energy infrastructure businesses from Stanley Black & Decker.

Backed by specialist energy private equity firm Bluewater, the company has acquired CRC-Evans, a manufacturer of automatic and automated welding machines; Pipeline Induction Heat (PIH), a provider of insulated field joint coating services; and NDT provider Stanley Inspection (including MicroAlloying, part of Stanley Inspection). This acquisition has increased PTL’s staff from 350 to more than 1,000 employees, allowing it to take on more essential welding and coating projects and contracts.
