S&B Modular Operations changes name to S&B Fabrication Services

Baytown, Texas-based S&B Modular Operations has announced its name change to S&B Fabrication Services Ltd. The change reflects continued growth of the company’s services and products for the engineering and construction, oil and gas, renewables, and power sectors.

The manufacturer offers modular assembly, pipe fabrication, pipe supports, plate shoes, lifting lugs, and other steel plate products. Its facility houses a 50,000-sq.-ft. pipe fabrication shop with a capacity of up to 2,000 pipe spools per month, 27,000 sq. ft. of modular fabrication space, and 40 acres of modular assembly space.

Equipment includes X-ray bays that use computed radiography technology, nuclear analyzers for positive material identification, a robotic welding system, a plasma cutting system for pipe, and a 100-ton mobile gantry crane for lifting modules and heavy equipment. The company also uses SpoolGen software for spool extraction directly from clients’ isometric drawings via PCF or IDF files.
