Sharpe Products adds laser tube cutting system

To complement the existing machine technology at its facility in New Berlin, Wis., Sharpe Products has installed a BLM GROUP LT7 4-kW laser cutting system. This equipment cuts round, square, rectangle, and open profile pipe or tube up to 6 in. OD.

The operating software supports multiple operations. Weld seam detection helps ensure high quality to meet the functionality or aesthetic requirements for the part. A more efficient centering cycle helps ensure consistency and reduced production time per part.

Additionally, the laser is equipped with a 3D cutting head to create knife-edged bevels, copes, and miters that may be needed for weld prep or other required features.
