STI/SPFA announces 2014 Steel Water Pipe Awards
Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association, Lake Zurich, Ill., has presented Steel Water Pipe Product of the Year Awards to JIFCO Inc., Livermore, Calif., and Mid-America Pipe Fabricating & Supply, Scammon, Kan.
JIFCO won the 2014 Pipeline Project of the Year Award for its Bay Division pipeline 3 and 4 Hayward Fault Crossing seismic upgrade project in San Francisco. Mid-America received the 2014 Pipe Fabrication of the Year Award for its southeast Louisiana urban flood control project at the Harahan, La., pump station.
Entries for the annual awards are voted on by members of STI/SPFA, based on criteria such as promotional value, uniqueness of project, design/engineering, and aesthetics.
