WAFIOS to build e-mobility campus

WAFIOS has announced plans to invest $11.6 million to establish and build the WAFIOS Campus for Electro Mobility in Reutlingen, Germany. The campus, which will comprise a total area of 19,375 sq. ft., will house the company’s activities in the e-mobility sector, including machine development and commissioning, production of prototypes and sample parts, and customer service.

The company’s dedication to electromobility began more than five years ago with the development of bending technologies for busbars and hairpins as a central module for the production of stators for electric motors. The newly developed Speedformer is software-controlled, so it can produce a variety of parts without the need to change tools. It achieves a cycle time of 1 to 1.3 sec./part.
