C. Marshall Fabrication sells one of world’s longest plate rolls

C. Marshall Fabrication Machinery Inc. has sold one of the longest plate rolls ever built to Armor Lite Excel LLC, a trailer manufacturer in Sikeston, Mo. The machine, made by MG s.r.l., located in Fossano, Italy, was transported on five flatbed trucks.

The model M8014E is a 26-ft. by 9/16-in. plate roll weighing approximately 196,400 lbs. It is equipped with a vertical support with dual movement—it not only moves up and down but also side to side, allowing it to work with almost any shape. A side support and CNC Touch Command EVO make it possible to calculate automatically almost any shape—circular, oval, open-jointed, elliptical, and polycentric.

Armor Lite Excel will use the machine in its production of DOT-406 petroleum cargo tanks, DOT-407 chemical and crude oil cargo tanks, 5,600-gal. stainless fertilizer cargo tanks, 7,500-gal. aluminum asphalt cargo tanks, noncode 150 BBL aluminum vacuum tanks, and 1,050-cu.-ft. pneumatic cargo tanks.
