Deepwater gas field begins production in South China Sea

Reuters has reported that the first deepwater gas field fully operated by a Chinese company, Lingshui 17-2, has started production.

The gas project, in the South China Sea, is expected to reach peak production of 328 million cu. ft. of natural gas and 6,751 barrels of condensate per day in 2022. After production begins, natural gas will be connected to the national gas pipeline network through submarine pipelines.
