Manufacturing line at new MSS Steel Tubes factory to produce Nextracker solar tracker components

Nextracker Inc., a manufacturer of utility-scale solar trackers, and MSS Steel Tubes USA, a joint venture of Metalogalva and Soufer, have announced the commissioning of a new factory in Memphis, Tenn., to manufacture low-carbon steel torque tubes for the solar tracking systems. It is expected to create 129 jobs.

The dedicated tube mill will feed projects in Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, and Georgia, many developed by Tennessee-based Silicon Ranch, which has signed supply agreements with Nextracker for 1.5 and 3 GW.

Portugal-based industrial company Metalogalva Group and Brazil steelmaker Soufer Group formed MSS Steel Tubes USA to reconfigure a vacant industrial building to manufacture for Nextracker.
