Plymouth Tube hires president/CEO

Warrenville, Ill.-based Plymouth Tube Co., a privately held, family-owned manufacturer of precision steel tubing and steel and titanium near-net and cold-drawn shapes, has named Drew Van Pelt as president/CEO. He joins the company as Donald Van Pelt Jr., who served as president/CEO for 18 cumulative years and as chairman of the board since 2013, makes plans to return to retirement.

After graduating from Claremont McKenna College with a major in philosophy, politics, and economics, Van Pelt worked for Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada and then joined Primus Capital as an investor. He left Primus to enroll in the Harvard Business School, where he earned his MBA in 2009. After graduating, he served as the Harvard Business School Leadership Fellow at Teach for America, a not-for-profit in the education sector, for one year. Subsequently he ran a startup in the digital marketing sector, Three Ships Media in Raleigh, N.C., as a co-owner. He most recently served as CEO of Larson-Juhl.
