Rafter ships turkshead straightener with motor adjust to heavy-wall tube producer

Rafter Equipment Corp., a manufacturer of tube mills, pipe mills, roll forming machines, cutoff machines, and related tube and pipe mill machinery in Strongsville, Ohio, has shipped an RT-4000S single-sided turkshead straightener with 2-axis motorized adjustments to a North American heavy-wall tube producer. The turkshead can straighten up to 3.500-in.-OD by 0.300-in.-wall tubing.

The unit includes motorized up/down and left/right adjustment so that tube straightness can be controlled from a remote downstream position using a joystick. Linear displacement transducers indicate movement and position for straightness control on the remote operator's console.
