Welded Tubes building facility in Mexico

Orwell, Ohio-based Welded Tubes has announced plans to open a 55,000-sq.-ft. facility in Monterrey, Mexico. Operations are scheduled to begin in early 2024, with a focus on small-diameter, tight-tolerance tubing for the automotive industry.

The facility is breaking ground on the Steel Warehouse campus in Monterrey. Steel Warehouse is the sister company of Lock Joint Tube (LJT), a South Bend, Ind., mechanical grade tubing manufacturer and parent company of Welded Tubes.

The expansion will take LJT’s combined company presence to six locations. The new facility has plans to expand to include LJT’s capability range after its first several years in operation.
