3-D laser cutting machine designed for tube and structural applications

The 3D Fabri Gear 400 III from Mazak Optonics performs laser cutting of tube, pipe, and structurals. Available with a 2.5- or 4.0-kW resonator, it cuts round, square, rectangular, and triangular materials, as well as I- and H-beams, C-channel, angle iron, and additional user-defined shapes from mild or stainless steel.

The machine has a rigid workpiece handling system incorporating a four-chuck design, so it can handle large, long, thick, and heavy materials. According to the company, it also has improved processing speeds and tighter tolerances and can be used for drilling and tapping.

The 6-axis laser allows cutting at any desired angle for weld preparation. Program-controlled loading, workholding, and unloading increase workcell efficiency.
