Crippa’s 150LE tube bender offers simple programming, quick tool setups

Crippa S.p.A. has introduced the 150LE CNC tube bender, part of its Linear bending machine series. The fully electric, compact machine offers simple programming, fast tool setups, and the power to make 1xD bends, the company reports. The 150HE model with extended vertical stroke also is available for integrated tube cutting or tube shapes with extremely complex geometry.
The bender comes with two levels of tooling for 6-in. tube, three levels for 4-in. tube, or more tooling for smaller-diameter tubes. The standard bed length of 95 in./197 in. (collet/hitch feed) can be extended.
Features include available carriage boost with up to 8 tons of force, calendar bending (push bending) for generating large-radius bends, and nine servo axes controlled by a Siemens 840D sl.
Programming is done using the company’s UII software, which allows importing of coordinates from 3D models or manual entry. It offers a tooling library and full-cycle simulation for programming complex parts in less than 5 min.
The mandrel rods, overhead ties, collet, and mandrel are all quick-disconnect. Setup can be completed in 15 min., the company states.
