HGG ProCutter 600’s 3-D pipe cutting accuracy helps reduce welding, fitting time

HGG has introduced the ProCutter 600 for structural steel fabricators cutting complex piping constructions up to 24 in. dia. According to the company, the machine’s accuracy helps reduce grinding, fitting, and welding time after pipe profiles are cut. Along with onboard MDI programs, the machine supports building information modeling software.

The unit includes proprietary ProCAM software for 3-D parameter-based part profile programming and work preparation. The software includes two patented cuts—the Partial Joint Penetration and the Strainer—providing savings of up to 20 percent in welding volume, the company reports.

Features include a three-jaw chuck for secure pipe positioning, a pipe support and cutting bed with either pipe carriages or roller chute for loading and unloading of pipe, a durable machine frame, Y-carriage with oxyfuel or plasma biaxial cutting heads, and an operator interface with graphic touchscreen navigation.
