T&H Lemont ships model 280/6 motorized seam orientation stand

T&H Lemont has shipped a new, motorized seam orientation stand (SOS), model 280/6, which is designed to work on tube from 0.750- to 3.500-in. diameter and 0.028- to 0.250-in. wall thickness.

SOS units compensate for drift in the weld seam location. Using two vertical rolls that are adjusted by the operator, the SOS aligns the seam at a specified location on the circumference, usually top dead center, to align the weld seam with inductors used for inline annealing and sensors used for nondestructive testing. It also assists in maintaining the tube’s straightness and in complying with any customer requests for a specific seam location.
