Tube welding controller integrates GTAW power source with weld head

Magnatech has introduced the model 517 tube welding controller for orbital tube welding with the EZ system. The compact, 17.5-lb. controller integrates the operation of a standard, commercial GTAW power source with the weld head.

It has a symbol-based color touchscreen user interface. The user selects the weld head model, tube size, and wall thickness and presses the Start Weld switch on the head. Amperage can be adjusted by a percentage override to accommodate tube lot variation.

The standard power source can be disconnected and used for manual welding when required.
