The XM200G-series 3D printer meets the specification demands of metal SLM (selective laser melting) and DMLS (direct metal laser sintering) printers used for additive manufacturing applications in which print speed, part quality, and affordability are essential, claims the manufacturer, Xact Metal Inc.
The new printer is based on the company’s XM200C metal 3D printer and can be ordered with one laser (XM200G) or two (XM200G2).
The new printer features a high-performance galvanometer that controls the motion of the laser beam(s) over the powder bed. Customers can choose a 100-, 200-, or 400-W fiber laser. Options include a water-cooled galvanometer, which enhances stability; a glovebox, to ease powder handling; and an integrated powder-handling system.
Xact says it designed the new printer for manufacturers starting their metal 3D printing journey and to further expand the use of the technology in the aerospace, automotive, general manufacturing, and medical industries.
