Gefertec’s GTarc machines use 3DMP AM to produce metal parts

Gefertec GmbH has introduced GTarc machines for manufacturing metal parts. Their 3DMP® additive manufacturing (AM) technology is based on electric arc welding, so it uses wire as original material. The final part is formed by applying welding layer over welding layer.
The machines manufacture near-net-shape metal parts to high quality standards that are comparable to standard manufacturing methods, says the company. Only the finishing of the part is done using standard CNC milling.
The machines are available in three versions, with three or five axes. CAM software calculates the data out of the CAD model, thus enabling the CNC unit to position the welding head precisely. The machines produce the near-net-shape part automatically.
