IDOT issued a challenge for the development of a viable, economical solution to accelerate the replacement of the aging bridge infrastructure. An industry task group developed press brake-formed tub girders for short-span bridges that are formed in a factory, preassembled with a concrete platform, and installed on-site in hours or days.
