Trace-A-Matic increases CNC turning capacity

Trace-A-Matic, a producer of precision CNC machined parts and fabrications, has installed a new HNK VTC-28/30 vertical turning center at its Brookfield, Wis., location.

The machine features a 60-HP, 130-RPM table with a 44,000-lb. load capacity and a 25-HP live spindle to support tapping and other machining operations. The installation increases the company’s turning capability to a cutting diameter of 118.1 in. and height of 78.67 in.

The new turning center will process large industrial rings, forgings, and castings for the military, water, oil and gas, and space industries.
