Hydro Aluminum's Extrusion North America unit, Monett, Mo., has appointed Robert Sharpe as operations manager for its central region. He joined Hydro in 2009 as one of the central region's territory sales managers.
Sharpe has more than 13 years of experience managing large teams while increasing safety, service, and productivity. Before joining the company, Sharpe held operations management positions with Indalex, one of North America’s largest independent suppliers of aluminum extrusions. Earlier in his career, he worked for EASCO Aluminum as a paint department manager and extrusion supervisor.
In his new role, Sharpe is responsible for implementing strategic, safety, and quality initiatives as well as upcoming capital investments in the plant. In addition, he has direct accountability for customer satisfaction and profitability.
Sharpe attended Tunxis Community College in Farmington, Conn. He has been certified with Development Dimensions Intl. as an instructor in facilitating frontline supervisor training modules.
