The 22nd annual Great Designs in Steel symposium returns May 22

The 22nd annual Great Designs in Steel symposium (GDIS), hosted by the American Iron and Steel Institute, will take place May 22, 2024, at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Mich.

Doors open at 7:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast buffet. The program begins at 8:00 a.m. with a keynote address from Brad Davey, ArcelorMittal corporate business optimization and global automotive executive vice president, and a vehicle architecture presentation by Dr. Hoda Eiliat, General Motors structure lead integration engineer.

Registered attendees will have access to a full-day technical agenda organized in three tracks that focus on OEM and electric vehicle architectures; materials and manufacturing; and joining, welding, and fastening. The more than 30 technical sessions will feature presentations from OEMs including Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis, as well as Tier suppliers and academic research institutions.

Attendees will view vehicle displays and technology exhibits from OEM and supplier companies, with the opportunity to network with more than 1,000 industry professionals.
