U.S., Western Europe hot-rolled steel prices up

SteelBenchmarker™has reported that the hot-rolled band (HRB) world export price for June 26 was $608 per ton, FOB the port of export, down slightly from the June 12 figure of $610. The HRB price in the U.S., however, increased $14 per ton, or 2.1% to $689 per ton, from the June 12 figure of $675 per ton.
The four benchmark prices for hot-rolled band included in the report are:
- U.S. — $689 per metric ton, FOB the mill (up $14 per ton, or 2.1%, from $675 two weeks ago, and up $71 per ton, or 11.5% from April 10).
- China — $454 per metric ton, ex-works (down $10 per ton, or 2.2%, from $464 two weeks ago, but still up $52 per ton, or 13% since April 10).
- Western Europe — $629 per metric ton, ex-works (up $24 per ton, or 4%, versus $605 on June 12).
- World Export Price — $608 per metric ton, FOB the port of export (down $2 per ton, or 0.3%, versus $610 on June 12, but up $91 per ton, or 17.6% since April).
