Hypertherm, a Hanover, N.H.-based manufacturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems, has announced plans to host two days of live training at Conestoga College in Cambridge, Ont., April 30 and May 1. The workshops will show people how to improve their system performance, material usage, and consumable life.
The April 30 workshop, titled “Advanced Productivity Training,” will feature Jim Colt, a 35-year employee of the company. He will discuss plasma, laser, waterjet, and oxyfuel cutting and demonstrate advances that can help companies increase productivity and decrease operating costs. In addition, he will review consumable care, show attendees how to inspect their plasma consumables, and offer tips aimed at helping companies increase consumable life.
The May 1 event will provide an in-depth tutorial of the manufacturer’s ProNest CAM software. This event, titled “ProNest Power User,” is for CAM programmers currently using the software or anyone wanting a thorough look at the software’s capabilities. During this session, CAM software experts will share advanced, process-specific programming techniques for plasma, laser, oxyfuel, and waterjet cutting. It will include tutorials on production tools such as the integration of ProNest with an ERP/MRP system, the synchronization of work order flow and plate inventory, and efficient material utilization.
