OSHA recognizes Homogeneous Metals for safety, health excellence

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has recognized Homogeneous Metals Inc., Clayville, N.Y., for achieving four years of excellence in worker safety and health.

The Clayville facility employs 109 workers who create high-grade superalloys used in the manufacture of jet engines for the military and airline industries. The facility was approved for OSHA's Star Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) in July 2000 and achieved an injury case rate in 2001-2003 that was 81 percent below the industry average.
