3DX Industries completes first production run of 3-D printed metal components

3DX Industries Inc., Bellingham, Wash., has announced the completion of its first series of production-run components using the M-Flex™ metal printing system manufactured by The ExOne Co. 3DX now has printed numerous 3-D metal components and parts for clients in the food processing industry and green energy-generation sector.

The system uses the 3-D printing additive manufacturing process, which materializes an object, or mold for an object, layer by layer out of powdered material, a chemical binder, and a digital file. Immediate changes can be made within a CAD file, and those changes are sent directly to the print floor.
