Brose to expand manufacturing in Michigan

Brose North America Inc., a manufacturer of mechatronic components and systems for vehicle bodies and interiors, has signed a purchase agreement for an existing 380,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in New Boston, Mich. The facility is Brose's third in Michigan and ninth in North America.

Recent new contracts with Chrysler and Ford necessitate the company's expansion in North America. For Chrysler, Brose will supply door modules to Jeep's Toledo North Assembly Plant. Brose also was recently awarded additional seat structure business on upcoming Ford passenger car and SUV models.

Production is expected to ramp up in early 2013. The expansion is expected to create 450 jobs.
