Mech-Tronics celebrates 60th anniversary

Mech-Tronics, Melrose Park, Ill., a manufacturer of products for the avionics, aerospace, and defense industries, is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Sam and Eugene DeMuro founded the privately held corporation in 1948. Steady growth led to factories in Illinois, Arizona, and Mexico. Mech-Tronics was recently awarded supplier of the year recognition by Rockwell Collins and has been named preferred supplier by aerospace companies such as Hamilton-Sundstrand, Honeywell, and Raytheon.

The company specializes in fabrication and build-to-print aluminum chassis and enclosures. Its turnkey facilities offer services that include aluminum dip brazing, photo etching, welding, painting, silk screen, chemical conversion, and hardware installation.

Supporting aerospace customer requirements for kanban, consignment, and lean initiatives, the company is certified to AS9100B:2004 and ISO 9001:2000 without design.
