Report grades each state in categories key to manufacturing and logistics success
- June 26, 2012

The 2012 Manufacturing and Logistics National Report, compiled by Conexus Indiana, Indianapolis, and Ball State University's Center for Business and Economic Research, Muncie, Ind., shows how each state ranks among its peers in several areas of the economy that underlie the success of manufacturing and logistics.
These specific measures include manufacturing and logistics industry health, human capital, cost of worker benefits, sector diversification, productivity and innovation, expected fiscal liability, tax climate, and global reach. The categories were chosen as those most likely to be considered by site selection experts for manufacturing and logistics firms. The report includes full explanations of each of these measures, with U.S. maps showing each state’s grade for that measure, from A to F.
Also included is a national scorecard, showing each state in alphabetical order with their grades from A to F in the same categories.
The report's website, at www.conexus.cberdata.org, provides a full performance history for each state, a feature profile for Indiana, and national reports since 2008.
