The concurrent staging of Tube 2004, International Tube and Pipe Trade Fair (commonly known as Tube Dsseldorf) and wire 2004, International Wire and Cable Trade Fair, attracted 61,000 visitors from 72 countries and 1,696 exhibitors. The tradeshows drew 60,000 visitors in the previous staging in 2002.
Sixty-five percent of the wire 2004 visitors and 70 percent of the Tube 2004 visitors were final decision makers. A total of 97 percent of the visitors gave the trade fairs high ratings.
Dr. Gunther Voswinkel, vice president (Europe) of the International Tube Association (ITA), said, "We are very satisfied with the participation in Tube 2004. We renewed existing customer contacts, made very promising new contacts, prepared business negotiations, and expect successful postshow business."
The exhibitors were internationally diverse. At wire 2004, 68 percent of the exhibitors were from outside Germany; at Tube 2004, 63 percent were from outside Germany. The main interests among Tube 2004 attendees were tube, pipe, and accessories (54 percent); tube and pipe processing machinery (25 percent); tube and pipe converting machinery (23 percent); and tube and pipe manufacturing machinery (22 percent).
The next staging of the event is scheduled for April 24-28, 2006, at the fairgrounds in Dsseldorf, Germany.
