Angle grinder has enhanced safety features

Metabo Corp. has introduced the new 6-in. WB11-150 Quick compact angle grinder. When used in conjunction with grinding disks, the brake stops the tool within 3 seconds; with thin cutting disks, it stops in less than 1.5 second.
The grinder features a racket grip and dual grip zones. The antivibration handle absorbs up to 60 percent of the vibration.
Other safety features include a toolless guard adjustment with seven stops, a spindle lock, and an S-Automatic safety slip clutch that absorbs the torque created if the wheel should bind or snag, protecting the operator from kickback.
The grinder includes a sonically balanced fan to increase airflow over the motor. The double-lipped labyrinth sealed bearings, dust-deflecting winding protection grid, and epoxy-coated windings also protect the motor and other essential components from dust and debris.
Weighing 6.25 lbs., the angle grinder has an aluminum die-cast gear housing and features a 9.6-amp motor with 1,100 W, 29.2 in.-lbs. of torque, and a no-load speed of 9,000 RPM. The tool also features a toolless wheel change system.
