Angle grinders feature reduced gear noise, vibration

DeWalt offers a new line of 4 -in., heavy-duty, small angle grinders in three models.
The D28402, D28112, and D28110 are constructed with a jam-pot gear case—an industry first on a grinder, the company reports—that provides precise gear alignment while reducing gear noise and vibration. The grinders are designed with spiral bevel gears, which provide the user with increased durability as well as a smooth and quiet transmission that reduces vibration.
The D28402 and D28112 are equipped with a patent-pending Dust Ejection System™ that ejects dust particles and debris that enter the tool through the air-intake vents, reducing the occurrence of debris damaging the motor. The system ejects 80 percent of metal dust and debris through the dust port.
For further protection, a heavy-duty epoxy coating protects the copper in the motor against dust and debris abrasion. The D28402 and D28112 have an armature debris deflector that covers the armature windings. Both are equipped with a four-piece G55, 10-amp motor that operates at 1,200 mwo and weighs 4.6 lbs.
All models have the patent-pending QUICKCHANGE™ wheel release system that allows users to remove wheels without a wrench when they are using the inner clamp washer.
