Nonactive punches remain stationary in multitool design

Pass Stanztechnik AG has developed three- and eight-station multitools for use on Prima Power CNC punching machines.

The ps:multitool-3 and ps:multitool-8 offer quick change of punch inserts with maximum process stability; single-pressure-operated punch inserts and maximum guide length; a spring to control grind life after sharpening punch inserts; and internal and external lubrication channels.

The tools leave no marks on the sheet, because only a single punch is active; all unused punches stay up. The result for the active punch is a stabilized guide ratio from punch diameter to guide length to a dimension of 1-to-3.

Eight punching springs are arranged in the upper part of the tool and replace the conventional center stripping spring in the bottom of the tool. The quantity and the forces of the springs can be adjusted individually.
