Overhead lighting for NDT inspection introduced

Spectronics Corp. has introduced the new Spectroline® ONT-365 On-Trak™ NDT inspection system. This overhead track-style, modular lighting system uses UV-A and white-light LEDs attached to a mountable platform. It is suitable for use in NDT inspection booths and for preinspections and screening applications requiring uniformity of coverage over a large area.
The system features four broad-beam lamp heads. Each has three ultrahigh-flux UV-A LEDs for NDT inspection and one white-light LED for general illumination. The lighting system allows inspectors to move the lamp heads anywhere along the tracks so that beam patterns can be made to fit specific needs. Lamp heads also can be added for increased area coverage.
The light produces a nominal, steady-state UV-A intensity of 9,000 μW/cm2 at 15 in. An optional attenuating filter is available for reduced-intensity applications. Electronic intensity stabilizers help ensure consistent UV LED performance during extended use, and built-in cooling fans moderate temperature. The lamps reach full intensity immediately, and the LEDs have a rated life of 30,000 hours.
