Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has opened a new Jeep production facility in Goiana, located in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. The $2.4 billion facility, constructed over 2.5 years, comprises a Jeep assembly plant with 700 robots and a supplier park.

The plant has a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per year, with the capability to produce up to three different models at the same time. It currently is producing the Jeep Renegade® for export to markets across Latin America. The supplier park houses 16 suppliers that produce 17 component product lines at 12 different factories.

By the end of 2015, the company expects that 9,000 people will be working at the site, including 3,300 at the plant, 4,900 employed by suppliers, and about 850 in service activities.
