Institute developing sensors for manufacturers’ energy efficiency to receive $140 million
President Obama has announced that a UCLA-based institute focusing on the development of sensors that monitor the use of energy in manufacturing will receive $70 million from the Department of Energy and another $70 million from private companies and state entities.
The institute comprises regional centers in Texas, New York, Washington, and North Carolina in addition to the Los Angeles headquarters.
