Superior Machining and Fabrication expands into aerospace sector

As part of its 20th anniversary, Superior Machining and Fabrication in Muenster, Texas, has announced an expansion project focused on increasing its services in the aerospace industry.

The initial phase has already begun and should be completed within the next three months. It includes a 10,000-sq.-ft. facility expansion that will allow room for new equipment and large aerospace parts. It could lead to 10 to 15 new machines and 10 to 15 new jobs.

With an expected completion in 12 to 18 months, stage two will expand the company’s engineering and equipment capabilities, including larger, monolithic aerostructures. As part of stage two, the company has upgraded its quality systems software and advanced engineering CAD/CAM software. It also is in the process of collecting specs and quotes for 5-axis, CNC, high-speed milling machines and developing additional workforce programs with the potential of adding more than 20 jobs.

The final stage, expected to be completed within three to four years, includes a 100,000-sq.-ft. expansion to the existing 110,000-sq.-ft. facility, an additional $3 to $5 million worth of 5-axis CNC machines and support equipment, and the potential of 50 to 75 high-wage advanced manufacturing jobs.
