EDM handles workpiece weights to 2,970 lbs.
Absolute Machine Tools offers the AccuteX DS-550CM die sinker EDM. The EDM has an X,Y, Z working capacity of 20 by 16 by 14 in. The worktable size is 32 by 18 in. Maximum workpiece size is 47 by 27 by 17 in., with a maximum workpiece weight of 2,970 lbs.
The machine was designed using FEA to help ensure accuracy. Its heavily ribbed, high-grade Meehanite® casting contributes to rigidity. Features include a precise drive system; linear bearings; Class 5 pretensioned, fine-finish ball screws; high-resolution servomotors; roller-type linear guideways; and optical scales.
Options include a built-in C axis with 360-degree indexing, an automatic electrode changer, dielectric cooler, and custom tooling package. The machine can perform 3-axis machining in six directions, as well as 3-axis linear machining and 2-axis arc machining, and offers helical machining electrode compensation.
