Steel grades reduce weight while adding strength

SSAB offers the new Domex 900/960 and 1100 hot-rolled and cold-formed strip steels, with strengths from 220 to 1,100 MPa.

The steels allow users to reduce the weight of the end product while adding strength and durability, according to the manufacturer. The materials offer formability, bendability, weldability, tight tolerances, and a smooth surface finish, the company states.

The steels can be used in applications such as parts for cranes, building structures, trailer chassis, agricultural and forestry machinery, and various types of utility vehicles.
